Michael Adams gained his first win in the Grand Prix London. He defeated Hikaru Nakamura, who failed for the 4th time in a row. Adams gave an exclusive interview to our correspondent Maria Yurenok after the game.

Michael admitted that free day helped him to recover: "I guess it was good to have a little bit of a brake on Saturday evening and then on Sunday."
"Where did you go?" - Maria asked.
"Well, just in few pubs" - Michael replied.

This is what Adams said about the game: "I guess first 18 moves were just preparation. I don't know, I thought maybe I already stood in a reasonably good position. He didn't like his rook on a4. He probably stood worse after 20...Rа4, but I don't know maybe White stood better even without this move."

Adams agreed that 28...Rb8 was the decisive mistake and added: "When it's going badly it's difficult, you know, so I guess he just had enough."

Michael Adams's commentary is available in the audio player [in English].
