The starry team of Baden-Baden, which has won the last seven championships of the German Bundesliga, has a new player - the world's number 2 Armenian GM Levon Aronian. This was announced on Chess Tigers (the former official website of the festivals which used to be held in Mainz).

Let us remind you, that in the last season the team was headed by the current World Champion Vishy Anand, who scored 2 out of 4, and the world's number one player Magnus Carlsen, who hasn't played at all. Among other members of the starry club are - Peter Svidler, Francisco Vallejo, Michael Adams, Alexei Shirov, Arkadij Naiditsch, Sergei Movsesian, Peter Heine Nielsen, Rustam Kasimdzhanov.

ChessTigers specifies that the club is growing not just because of the Bundesliga, but mostly because of the forthcoming European Club Cup, which will be held from October 10th-18th in Israel. Baden-Baden hasn't yet won the continental cup. For the last four seasons the trophy went to the Russian teams: Ural (2008), Economist (2009, 2010) and The St. Petersburg's Chess federation (2011).
