The tie-break between Irina Krush and Anna Zatonskih, which had to determine the U.S. Champion among women was held yesterday evening (in Moscow Time) and was marked with a quite large number of mistakes as long as the rivals couldn't cope with the excitement. In the first rapid game Anna Zatonskih playing White exceeded the time limit in an already lost position, while the second game finished in a completely unusual way.

If Black has converted its advantage, we'd see Rapid Armageddon with unusual rules. But Anna gave away the Champion's title in one move: 47...Rxc4 48.Nxc4 1-0.

Irina Krush became the strongest women player of the United States of America for the 4th time in her career. Earlier she has won the title in 1998, 2007 and 2010.
