A successful start of Englishman – surprise package of London Tournament

In the last game of the Round 3 of the  London Chess Classic, McShane beat his compatriot, Britain’s strongest chess player, Michael Adams, who missed his chances in the middlegame.

Now McShane has 5 points out of three games and he is the main persecutor of Carlsen, who owes 7 points. Vladimir Kramnik has 4 points but only out of two games.

In any case, McShane’s successful start (he made draws with Aronian and Anand in the first two rounds) is the main surprise of the competition. However, his last year’s performance was also successful, he then gathered the equal number of points with Anand and stayed behind only Carlsen.

The next round will take place on Tuesday at 18:00 MSK Time.
