China Wants to Host the World Women's Championship Match, But Ilyumzhinov Gives the Chance to Lviv

Ilyumzhinov emphasized that this is his personal opinion, and the final decision is to be taken by the relevant FIDE committee. However, he promised to give his personal vote to Ukraine.

"The regional chess federation, as well as the Ukrainian chess federation, will certainly do their best to get this match", Taras Kernitsky, the head of the Lviv chess federation, has promised. "We are ready to work and provide the appropriate level of organization."

The governments of the city of Lviv and the Lviv region have also declared their full support for the idea.
