As we've already reported, the European men's individual championship will be held in Jerusalem from February 23rd to March 8th, 2015.

From the regulations published on the ECU website, one can see a curious detail: the prize fund will be 100.000 euro, that is 50.000 euro less than in 2014. Everything else is as usual: it will be the 11-rounds Swiss tournament with the time control 90 min / 40 moves + 30 min to the end, 30 sec increment from the start. 23 best players will qualify for the next World Cup.

The women's European championship will probably also take place in Jerusalem at the same time but this isn't for sure yet. The ECU had received a letter of interest from the Israel Federation, but it has been decided that the ECU President Zurab Azmaiparashvili will have an inspection trip to Jerusalem on 11th-12th December, 2014. This will be the final date to announce if the tournament will be held in Jerusalem, the ECU website explains.
