Magnus Carlsen will decide to play the World championship match or not only after the Sinquefield Cup which is approximately September 8. This has been reported by nrk.no with the reference to Espen Agdestein, Magnus's manager.

Let us remind you, FIDE has recently sent the contracts to Magnus Carlsen and his challenger Vishy Anand and in order them to play the match the players have to return signed documents to FIDE. Magnus's team sent a request to FIDE asking if the match can be postponed - laso because of the tense political situation in Russia - however, FIDE president declined the request. If the reigning champion refuse playing on the designated dates, he will be replaced by Sergey Karjakin who finished second at the Candidates.

Now Carlsen is focused on the Sinquefield Cup - a competition with a very strong field which starts in St. Louis the day after tomorrow. His rivals will be GMs Aronian, Caruana, Nakamura, Topalov and Vachier-Lagrave. Only after the double round-robin competitions finishes, Magnus will make the decision regarding his participation in the World title match.
