Viorel Bologan may be referred as the most contradictory participant of the tournamnet in Poikovsky.

He started with two losses and then lost another game in Round 4. Then was a free day, football and Bologan is already ahead of "carlsen's schedule": today he gained the 3rd win in a row.

23.Nxd5! Nxd5 24.e4 N7f6?! Apparently, 24...Bxd2 25.exd5 cxd5 26.Qxd2 Nf6 was more precise, but in this case white would maintain the advantage.
25.exd5 Nxd5 26.Rbe1 Qxe1 27.Rxe1 Rxe1 Black's position is uncomfortable, the reigning champion failed to solve all the problems.

Crioatian GM grabbed an advantage as white in a rare line of Caro-Kann in the encounter against Pavel Eljanov. This is third in a row win of the 23-year-old Saric - the youngest participant of the event.

  • Vioral Bologan gained his second win in a row in Poikovsky: he beat Ruslan Ponomariov yesterday, while today he took an upper hand on Lazaro Bruzon.
