Georgian Chess Federation and the Presidential Candidate for the European Chess Union Elections Zurab Azmaipashvilli propose ECU General Assembly in Tromso "to waive the President's Stipend from the annual ECU budget for the following reasons:

1. The President of the ECU is a high honorary position. President should not be financially dependent on a monthly salary and should be able to add funds to the organization rather than being paid through its modest resources.

2. The 36.000 euros x 4 years = 144.000 euros to be transferred to the Chess in Schools and other chess development programs, thus enabling ECU to provide additional support to the National Federations."

"We note that Mr. Zurab Azmaipashvilli has already announced an additional sponsorship deal worth 400.000 euros for the ECU. We propose to add a further 144.000 euros to the ECU budget, as Mr. Azmaiparashvili will not be accepting the salary from the organization.

"Acknowledging Mr. Silvio Danailov’s announcement at the last GA in Warsaw that it would be difficult for him to find additional sponsorship for ECU, we ask Mr. Danailov to at least back our proposal so that we can have a unanimous decision on the 9th of August" says the note.
