The 3rd China Women Chess Masters Tournament Is Under Way

The 3rd China Women Chess Masters Tournament has started today. This is a round-robin competition which gathered eight Chinese players (all the strongest except Hou Yifan and Zhao Xue), one Russian Valentina Gunina and one Georgian Lela Javakhishvili.

Ju Wenjun, Tan Zhongyi, Huang Qian, Guo Qi, Ding Yixin, Wang Jue, Shen Yang, Zhang Xiaowen are representing China.

The opening ceremony and drawing were held yesterday. 

Round 1 was played today. Time control: (90'+30')+30''/per move. Live streaming

  • The only free day allocated for the participants of the 3rd China Women Chess Masters Tournament turned out to be quite active: first they were on the excursion, then they held simuls for the local kids. Let us remind you, the tournament gathered eight Chinese players, one Russian (Valentina Gunina) and one Georgian (Lela Javakhishvili).

  • The participants of the annual "Snowdrops versus Oldhands" competition spent their free day differently. The organizer of the tournament Pavel Matocha suggested young players to go for skiing, however, Valentina Gunina and Alina Kashlinskaya decided shopping in Prague would be more exciting. Tania Sachdev was the only one to choose skiing.
