About a quarter of Chess-News readers is ready to enter the Chess Party creation of which has been suggested by the FIDE President. We have asked if you would enter Kirsan Ilyumzhinov's Chess Party. Here you can see the results of our poll.
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov visited Klesov village, which is located in the Ukrainian district of Rovno. Interfax reports Ilyumzhinov mentioned that his main aim is to open a chess academy in the village. But this wasn't the only thing the President has declared. Ilyumzhinov announced he's going to set up the International world chess party, the headquarters of which will be in Ukraine.
We have written about Kirsan Ilyumzhinov's wish to set up the movement The World Chess Party in September 2012. Now the information has been confirmed and even supplemented with new details by the Russian newspaper Izvestia.
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov commented on the ban FIDE issued for Garry Kasparov and Ignatius Leong. Let us remind you, FIDE Ethics Committee found Garry Kasparov and Ignatius Leong guilty of breaching the FIDE Code of Ethics for their conduct during the FIDE presidential elections.
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov once again asked the chief of the Olympiad organizing committee Ali Nihat Yazici to settle the issue related to the Chess-News chief editor acreditation and let him in the playing hall. Ali Nihat Yazici promised to discuss this during the organizing committee meeting and report the FIDE President about the results.
