Evgeny Sveshnikov reacted on the situation in the Russian women's national team. He says he doesn't support neither Kosintseva sisters, nor Sergei Rublevsky. He sees the main problem to be in the following:

"The governing body cannot actually influence on the members of the team while the contracts haven't been signed. FIDE is also powerless in this situation, unable to fine them, as well as allow or forbid them to change the federation. From the legal point of view FIDE can't even fine chess players for changing the federation. There aren't the contracts like the ones we have in hockey or football...

Kosintseva sisters were dissatisfied with the coach, but if they had the signed contract they would be obliged to follow it. In this case they are free to do whatever they want. The fact is that they're trying to enslave us, but we're neither slaves nor serfs. We're free people, grandmasters and we can't be put in some scopes while we haven't signed any contract."
